fly away

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

fly away

I want to fly away
with you
to Paris
or maybe Rome
it really doesn’t matter where
as long as I’m with you

I want to fly away
with you
to Rio
or the moon
because nothing is impossible
as long as I’m with you

I want to fly away
with you
I tell you every day
you just laugh
and shake your head
and say
I’m a fool to dream

when I promise
we can do it
that we can fly away
you are quick to disagree
with logic that makes
no sense to me
you say
we have no wings
