Castles and Kings
In Scotland, every castle has a ghost, a flimsy phantom who flits, with or without a head, through dimly-lit corridors of stone and, if not too cliché-averse, rattles the occasional chain in dead of night.
Additionally, every heather-clad glen has haggis foraging for thistles, their staple diet, every loch has its own monster loitering in the dark and dismal depths, and every mist-shrouded ben has a unicorn frolicking free on the slopes.
Some of you may not believe this, but place your trust in only one of the myriad gods worshipped on our planet.
And others, astonishingly, still believe Trump.

Dear CE,
It is mind boggling, isn’t it?
Shalom,
Rochelle
Quite astonishing. As an American, I don’t get it.
I loved all of that (apart from ‘him’).
Every golf course has a Trump. Donald, where’s your troosers?
i love haggis. hopefully, our dear president will replace the big mac with it too. i’ll suggest it to natalie harp. 🙂
Some things are just beyond belief. But still they happen
Slug lemmings. Where’s a salt shaker when you need it?
Belief – the spectrum never ceases to amaze me. A different angle from you this week.
…and headless riders race through Lanark on large horses. I love the unbelievable as it adds fibre to every story.
Excellent piece of flash satire – sharply humorous, blending whimsical Scottish folklore with social commentary – perfect punchline 🙌
I believe! I believe!
The sounds in this rhapsody to Scotland dance like the images.
Donald John’s mammy must be birlin in her grave.
