AnElephantCant always be cheerful
So this week he decides to give everyone a laugh
He appreciates your visit
So his thanks are explicit
He hopes his wee tale is not a huge social gaffe
Great excitement in the Elephant House as Friday is almost here again and the Fictioneers sharpen their keyboards for another assault on the credulity of blogville.
Thanks again to rootin’ tootin’ Rochelle, our esteemed hostess.

Memories
Please don’t go on your bike, darling.
It isn’t that far, honey, and in this traffic I’ll be there almost as soon as you are.
But I always think that these narrow roads are so dangerous!
Don’t be silly, sweetheart, it’s a lovely day and you know I can really use the exercise.
Are you sure, you know I worry about you on that thing.
Hey, I am indestructible, remember?
Come on, kids, Daddy will meet us there.
Bye, kids, bye, darling!

And now the local news.
A mother and her two children were killed when a truck …

Surprise ending, wow. Great piece.
Thank you, Camgal, very kind of you.
Happy you enjoyed it.
Naughty naughty. I shouldn’t be smiling but maybe you set me up with your intro. Well done.
Haha! Misdirection 1 Sarah Ann 0!
Thank you.
How cruel ending… Really caught me with a sigh
Thanks, Bjorn, good to catch you out!
Oh, caught me by surprise! Good!

Happy about that, Scott, thank you.
Dear AEC,
Life is a cruel taskmaster and your story shows just why.
Aloha,
Doug
On the button, Doug, thanks for commenting.
Ohhh – life is not fare sometimes! Clever twist….
Too true, Freya, and then you are dead!
Glad you enjoyed.
Rochelle put it very well – a face slapper indeed!
Ouch!
Glad it got you!
Oh dear!
I guess when it’s our time…it’s our time…
Oh, RoSy, you may well be right about that!
cycling is safer
never know what a day may hold
So true, MDW, so true!
You got me with that ending. I felt something bad was coming but didn’t suspect the people in the vehicle. Awful story but well written!
Ha! So glad the misdirection worked.
AnAwfulElephant is happy!
Yet another reason to ride a bike.
And stay away from trucks!
A sad twist at the end there — and shows that she’s right: those roads are dangerous.
Too true, Zooky, gotta be careful out there!
I didn’t see that coming. Great story.
Thank you, AnElephant likes to misdirect!
Narrow roads here with lots of bicycles–sometimes it’s worth your life to pass. Good story with a surprise ending.
Thank you, glad you liked it!
What a twist, great job 🙂
Thank you, Helen!
Glad you liked the story.
Oh no! How sad. ;-(
Well, there was a wee clue in the intro!
An unheeded warning is the perfect way for a story to come true.
Thanks for dropping by, Joe.
Holy cow! This throw me for a loop! 😀
Then AnElephant’s job is done!
Sad! I ride my bike everywhere! Not cool! lol
The safe way to travel!
How sad!
janet
Thanks, Janet, happy it moved you!
That is terrible. She was worried for his safety, but turned out to be the victim
Harsh, but sadly true.
The sad irony of life sir elephant…….unexpected, a waste.
It is full of twists, for sure.
Dear Elephant,
This one’s a real face-slapper. Fabulous irony in your twisted ending. Good job!
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks, Rochelle, glad you liked.
Ye Gods…what a tale of woe…..
Yep, AnElephant lied about the laugh!
So the bike was safer than the way the others travelled. Not everything is as safe as it seems
A life lesson, Al.
Very true. Any form of travel is as dangerous or as safe as any other form
Oh boy, AnElephant…..I had a feeling something was going to happen…
Boy, you are almost psychic, Anja!
