The Car – Friday Fictioneers

AnElephantCant drive an automobile
He is kinda bulky you see
If he tries to get in it
It does not last a minute
He does more damage than the average tree

Once again it is Friday Fictioneer time.
Presented weekly by the glorious and glamorous Rochelle, this is collection of short stories from a million or so talented writers and AnElephant.
The idea is to write a very short story, circa 100 words, based on this picture prompt (below).
That’s it.

The Car

Darling, I’m back!
I know you are, and I know where you have been, where you always go, why you are always late.
I have a surprise for you!
And I have one for you. Say goodbye to that expensive little toy I bought you, where I introduced you to him, a used car salesman. What a cliché!
You’ll never guess!
You forget I have certain skills. The tree is about to fall on your precious treasure.
Shriek! Darling, the tree just fell on the car I bought you, the one you admired so much when you bought mine!

A huge ar** (the elephant’s) and a huge far**! Well done on both poem and story. I like the way you interwove the adulterous wife’s dialogue with the husband’s wicked wizardy thought. Why did I feel I could not write out ‘farse’ in full?

Oops, a classic lack of communication issue, I suspect. Let’s hope adequate insurance cover was in place so they can be friends again.

Sounds like a major misunderstanding. I wish them the best. I agree with Helena. O.Henry’s gift of the Magi…only twisted. 😉 Funny.

I love the absurd nature of the conversation. So true that we can converse like this until some disaster brings us together. Enjoyed this one sir elephant.

    Dear AEC,

Criss cross fall the trees and cars and your story is a unique version of those inspired by the prompt. Good job.
