Snowy

My name is Petal.
I have a little black bunny.
Her name is Snowy.
Mummy says that’s a funny name for a black bunny, but my last bunny was called Snowy, and I cried for years and years when she died.
So this one’s Snowy too.
I’m worried about Snowy today.
She’s not eating anything.
That’s a shame, because I tried so hard to make her happy.
I thought she looked a bit sad this morning, so I took her to Mummy’s little workroom.
We found some very pretty pink thread.
And I sewed her a lovely new smile.

  1. Definitely, a creepy ending.

  2. I found this delightful. I agree that it took me up the wrong path, but what a wonderful twist at the end. Well done!

I can’t decide it this is cute, or creepy. Having read so much of your work, it could be either. You do like the quick twist at the end…

    Happy New Year!!
I finally got my post in CR today with a mini mash up. 🙂

Hi Jules, lovely to see you back here.
I always have trouble doing anything on CR!

I’ve been a regular at CR for many years. Seems WP has made some changes – so Charli had to make some too. I don’t always get to visit all the folks who contribute to the prompts I play with.

        Be well!

  8. Dear C.E.,
    You do say the loveliest of things in the strangest of ways;
Or is it the strangest of things in the loveliest of ways?
I must listen again and perhaps again.

  9. Oh, the minds of children and their trains of logic! I could see some kid thinking this is a brilliant idea. Definitely gave me a chuckle.

  10. I’ve heard of a fixed smile but really, CE? Brothers Grimm, eat your heart out. 🙂

    Oh honestly!
I certainly shouldn’t be laughing like I am.
This is a wee masterpiece of black humour and told in such a delightful child’s voice.
A great reading to match and Phil Burns’ rabbit is wonderful, totally smile-inducing.
