Houdini
They call me Houdini because I am famous for my ability to escape from seemingly impossible, and imminently fatal, situations by conjuring up a mind-boggling life-saving strategy.
Like the time I was chained and padlocked in fast-rising icy-cold water, being watched by two armed guards, and only seconds from death.
Or the evening the captain of the firing squad had just lit my consolatory cigarette (I don’t smoke, those things’ll kill you) before stepping back to issue his three commands.
Not forgetting when I parachuted from my stricken plane into the desert amidst the tanks of the aggressor who, knowing I was an enemy agent, had issued instructions to dispense with any formalities, but to eliminate me tout de suite, although, to be honest, I did have the assistance of my faithful dog, whom I call Tree because… nah, if you can’t work that out, we’re both wasting our time here.
And then there was the occasion when I found myself in a small tank full of exotic razor-toothed carnivorous South American fish (I was going to say piranha but I don’t know how to spell that).
So now I’m standing on the gallows, wrists and ankles tightly tied, and the renowned hangman has just slipped the noose of the high quality rope with its impeccable knot over my head, and I think to myself that this would be an excellent moment to devise a Baldrick-like cunning plan.

Thank god for cut ‘n paste, ’cause, don’t tell anyone, but I had to look up the name Baldrick… then watched a youtube clip.
The episode remined me of a scene from an episode of my current fave series, ‘The Good Place’ in which Tahani treats Eleanor to a BBC sitcom
