Friday Fictioneers is hosted by the wonderful Rochelle, the undisputed master of what I call Sound Bite Fiction.
She sets the weekly challenge, and the standard.
My travels are over for now, so I intend to visit most of your stories this week.
I took this photo in Nice, Côte d’Azur, not too long ago.
It is what I saw, not staged in any way.
The idea, as always, is to write a story of around 100 words based on the picture, below.
The Shoe
Stupid woman.
She is young, barely in her twenties, I’d say.
And very pretty.
Far too pretty to be walking in a place like this by herself.
It is late, the streets are deserted.
I throw her into the van.
She screams, pounds the sides.
I don’t care, it is soundproof.
We reach my garage in minutes.
The shutters rumble down.
I click on the lights, open the doors.
She hurls a shoe, attacks me.
I break her neck, drop her on the floor.
Then I pick up the shoe.
Caress it.
Smell it.
This is what it’s all about.

Wow!!! What an intense ride! Well done.
Good story, C. E. You took us right inside the mind of a psycho. Great twist at the end, although I knew it wasn’t going to be pleasant when he “threw” her into the car. Thanks for the great picture that led to so many interesting stories. 🙂 — Suzanne
Thanks for the very stimulating photo, CE. It’s sparked a diversity of stories this week, which is always enjoyable. I like the twist in your story. Great build-up, but I didn’t expect it to go in that direction. Very good.
My pleasure, Margaret, I think Rochelle has a great eye for the right prompt.
Glad you enjoyed the story.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment.
And I always thought you were a nice guy! Great scary story, I hope you get your get comeuppance and I hope I spelled comeuppance right.
Why on earth did you think that?
Glad you liked story.
And yes, excellent spelling.
Especially for an American.

First, great photo! Second, creepy story. I don’t understand shoe fetishes. My husband has more shoes than I do! 😉
First, thank you.
Second thank you again.
Nor do I, but I know they exist.
I read the story at breakneck speed waiting for the shoe to drop, because I know to expect one…
Nope, didn’t see that coming!.
It’s always fun to read the story again and see where the tone and direction changes. You are really good at this.
Thank you, Em, I try to keep you guessing!
Nicely done, this look inside the mind of a twisted killer.
Thank you, glad you liked it.
Oh dear!! reminds me of a Law and Order SVU episode!! such a deadly fetish that can even push to kill, who knew?
Thanks for your visit and your comment, Oliana.
I hope you enjoyed it.
I truly did !
You scare me!😀
Lily
I am sorry, Lily.
I am also glad that my story has that effect!
you are one sick puppy! Nice story, actually gave me a chuckle….which could mean that I am also a sick puppy!
Yeah, well, none of us are perfect, hmm?
that is true. cool story though
Nice twist at the end. The mind of a killer is always a bit of a mystery and it’s fun to take a look inside. I liked the pacing of the story as well as the format. The short sentences move it along quickly and when I reached the last one, you took that left turn. Well crafted and fun to read.
Very happy you found so much to your liking, sir.
I hope you will return.
Publishing that picture you took at the scene could just cause you a bit of a problem!
100 whimsical words for Friday Fictioneers
Nah, nobody reads this rubbish anyway!
