The Magic of Art
I stare at the painting of the big wooden door of the big wooden house.
It’s closed.
This play-park is strange, I think, but my daughter likes to come here because, she says, she can paint magic here.
Honest, Daddy, if you draw something and put it on the easel at the bottom of the garden, it becomes real!
This morning, at home, she drew a big wooden house.
I’ll paint it when I get there, with the magic paint!
Now she’s disappeared.
A few moments ago, the big wooden door of the big wooden house was definitely open.

Now, that she has created her fantasy, can she escape it?
Can any of us?
Dear C. E.
How lovely to see you back in the FFFold. Your story takes the magic of art to a new level. Your absence has been felt.
Shalom,
Rochelle
My pleasure, m’lady. Thank you for your kind words.
Well, my friend, that is certainly a creepy tale. Hopefully his daughter will reappear with stories to tell.
Thanks, Alicia, I love that you’re always the optimist!
A wonderful magical tale that teases us with intrigue. The open door awaits!
Thank you, Brenda, but it’s a painting! You know that only children can believe enough for that!
Ooh, I love this…
Thanks, Chris, glad you enjoyed!
Lovely to read you again, CE. Nice bit of flash. This child’s imagination is wonderful.
Thanks, Nancy
Lovely to find you here, Mr. Ayr! And with a wonderful story, to boot. I think he should go through the open door!
Thank you, Ms R, but are you mad? A man can’t go through a door in a painting!
Of course I am mad! And is this not a fiction group? 😉 Anything is possible…
I’m really pleased to see you back. Missed ya matey!
A wonderfully wierd tale.
Cheers, Keef, always a pleasure
How lovely to see you back. I hope it’s for a while. My suggestion to the father? Follow her through
Thanks, Neil, I’m not sure he has the necessary belief to go through…
spooky end!
Thank you, Nandini
Ooh, creepy.
Even with only 100 words to play with, you can colour the story and leave us hanging…
Well, Jenne, I had an extra brat for Hallowe’en, so…
Good to see you at FF, C.E.! 🙂 They don’t call doors portals for nothing. I hope he finds his daughter and they find their way home.
We’ll never know, Lisa, I’ve used up all my words!
🙂
lol!
Everybody disappears into their painting.
Kinda deep, James!
Spooky! Just in time for Samhain!!
Laughing. I’ll just stick with Hallowe’en!
Just so long as you get less tricks and more treats, yah?
Just so long as you get less tricks and more treats!
I heard you the first time!
Bears repeating, Sir!
I have a feeling he is going to have to follow her in! Great to see you!
Thanks, Violet, just a wee change!
