Friday Fictioneers is hosted by the wonderful Rochelle, the undisputed master of what I call Sound Bite Fiction.
She sets the weekly challenge, the standard, and the prompt photo.
The idea, as always, is to write a story of around 100 words based on the picture below, which this week is supplied by Jan Wayne Fields.
Click here to hear the author read his tale:
Things
Like a walk in the park…
The first days of love’s young dream, strolling hand in hand under sunshine and rainbows, through lush grass sprinkled with daffodils and daisies
Like a kiss in the dark…
As passion grows we’re wrapped in each other’s arms, fingers stroking through tumbling locks
Like a sailboat ride…
The ultimate romantic honeymoon, a yacht in Mediterranean moonlight, enjoying Ibiza, St Tropez, Capri, the Greek Islands
What about the night we cried…
Well, I did anyway, after you went overboard.
Your body was never found.
Unsurprisingly.
Luckily I do a great line in crocodile tears.
Note:
For an unrelated project, I have recently been trawling through the music of the Sixties. This was inspired by the superb Bobby Darin:

The unfolding of the couples relationship was very romantic, CE.
But, the twist was perfection. I enjoyed this tale. Happy New Year 2021 … Be Safe 😷

Your very welcome, CE. It’s always a pleasure to visit and read your artful words. Sadly, time isn’t always my friend. Despite isolation, I seem to be busy all the time. YAY … I think. 😀 Be Safe … 😷

They don’t write ’em like they used to. Unfortunately your characters do pretty much despatch their victims with supreme finesse.

And if you gotta bump ’em off, at least do it with panache!
