Forgetful – Weekend Writing Prompt

artwork by phil burns

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section

Forgetful

I have a niggle at the back of my brain.
I feel that I’ve forgotten something.
This is not a good situation in my line of work.
I need to be sharp, always.
Or there could be repercussions.
I meet a friend in the street.
Not working, I ask.
Never on a Saturday, she laughs.
Today is Saturday.
That’s what I’ve forgotten.

One must respond to her prompt, niggle or not. Nicely picked.

  2. Dear CE,

A great use of the word prompt. As you can see, I’m even later than you but that’s another story.
