Artwork by Phil Burns

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section

Democracy

Death before dishonour?
Nah, disenfranchisement before defeat.
Mark Twain said ‘If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.’
Prophetic words as democracy goes on trial in a nationwide court wrangle.

Mark Twain said that? How cynical of him. Although he could be correct and we live in a Kakistocracy 🙂

  6. It’s a darn shame wrangling occurs over election results. We’ll have to wrangle to protect and preserve the constitution and democracy.

They don’t even seem to realise the damage they are doing. What happens when it’s time for the next election in America – will anyone bother? Will anyone accept any result? Long term damage for the sake of short term ego.
