Going Out – Friday Fictioneers

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by the wonderful Rochelle, the undisputed master of what I call Sound Bite Fiction.
She sets the weekly challenge, and the standard.

Going Out

Me: Where’s my good jacket?
Her: Are you going out again?
Yes it’s, um, business.
Of course it is.
Where’s my new shirt?
You are dressing up for an evening business meeting?
Well I, er, need to look smart.
Of course you do.
Where are my boots of Spanish leather?
Same place as the rest of your things.
That isn’t very helpful, is it?
I put them all out for you.
Oh, thanks!
I thought you deserved that.
So…
Come over to the window.
The window?
Do you see that big black bag lying in the snow?
Uh…
Goodbye, sweetie.

  1. Just as it should be done! I do so love boots of Spanish leather, but it all depends on who’s wearing them!

Love how you’ve constructed this, C. The hints at his duplicity, the slow revelation that she is onto his game and won’t stand for it any longer. She definitely taught that one a lesson! Well written C

Hehe, that made me snort. That nerve of his, expecting her to have all his stuff ready, ‘where is this, where is that’ for his ‘business’ meeting. He doesn’t deserve a smart woman like her.

She threw you out. May be good looking Tony has something to do with it. But you are not blameless either! Who wears a pair of perfectly good shoe on a snowed out evening?
