In the Pink

Okay, listen up.
I know some of the folk who read this blog are not too bright – yeah, you know who you are – so I’ll make this simple.
I am a flamingo.
No, this does not mean that I do an exotic Spanish dance with castanets.
Au contraire, I am a tall, elegant dude with pink plumage.
No, not a Native American, they tend more towards eagle feathers, which they have to earn through deeds of great valour.
Mine just grow naturally.
I live in the Camargue, in the south of France, an area of wetland which lies in the delta between two arms of the River Rhone, and the Mediterranean Sea.
I don’t migrate, I live here all year round.
But I do sometimes dream about visiting the Rift Valley Lakes of East Africa.
Lake Nakuru in Kenya is supposed to be amazing, with up to 50,000 guys and gals like me all just stopping and chilling on their migratory paths.
But I met my mate here, and settled down.
I remember the first time I saw her.
I was wandering through a huge flock and there she was, this really cute chick.
I thought ‘Wow, great legs!’
