Cars – Friday Fictioneers

I have some news to share here
which I’ll explain anon
but before that let me tell you
AnElephant is gone

so now I must inform you
I suffer from an affliction
I’m a compulsive writer
of what I call Sound Bite Fiction

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly challenge hosted by the wonderful Rochelle, to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude.
The idea is to write a story of around 100 words inspired by the picture below.

Cars

It is almost dark when they appear.
I am walking along the old moor road, far from home.
I know from the roar of their engines that they are the Killie Boys.
Our sworn enemies.
I start to run.
I know that they have already seen me from the high point.
I turn down a dirt track, my feet flying, my breath gasping.
I know, as they do, that there is nowhere to hide out here in this barren country.
But I do not want to hide.
I just want to lead them into the traps we dug earlier.

  1. Funny story CE. Looking at the photo I would say that the traps worked. 😉

I’m shedding crocodile tears for the elphant. I didn’t know him well, but liked what I read. But no matter who you are or he is, I’ll read on. This story has a great build-up, very scary. These kids fight hard (even if the result is chuckle-worthy).

      No tears, please, for AnElephant.
He has had a good run, and will still do the funnies over at his zoo.
Big thanks for your kind words and support.

  4. The trap is set, the bait launched, and by the photo I’d say the villains captured. Well done!

Good that the trap worked. Are the Killie Boys still inside, I wonder 🙂

Nothing is exposed, Bjorn, just another layer of deceit!

  15. Dear C.E.

Gangs are universal, aren’t they? Sad but well written piece.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

PS You’re much nicer looking than a pink elephant.

Nice story poem 🙂 But I should say, I am sad to hear that An Elephant has gone… I have never met before an elephant who writes poetical stories… I am sure he is in somewhere else and waiting for being missed… Thank you Ceeayr, have a nice day, love, nia
