AnElephantCant worry about inter-planetary invaders
He thinks spacemen and such like are daft
He tries not to be mean
But if they really are green
Then AnElephant is just going to laugh
Once again it is Friday Fictioneer time.
Where our ethereal hostess Rochelle twinkles her light onto a new idea each week and creates a galactic gathering of stunning scribblers of star-spangled stories.
And AnElephant scarily scans the sky as usual.
The idea is to write a very short story, circa 100 words, based on this picture prompt (below).
That’s it.

The End
So that is it?
It looks like it, darling.
The end of the world.
Yes, unstoppable now, apparently.
So where do they come from?
Everyone seems a bit vague about that.
Doesn’t really matter, does it?
No, they just fired these wretched missiles and that is it.
And we can’t stop them?
Apparently not, when they reach our atmosphere they will go boom and release all this radioactive stuff, destroying every living thing on Earth.
And we have about four hours?
Yes.
What would you like to do?
Watch TV?
What’s on?
That Spielberg movie.

That Spielberg movie scared the hell out of me when I saw it. I nineteen and living alone at the time – went to the theater alone (never bothered me to do that), and at the end of the movie, that scene of the clothes falling from the sky stuck with me. I’m not sure if that’s the one I’d pick to while away civilization’s last hours, but to each their own!

Not bad-rather apt and then ofc one gets to see the handsome Tom Cruise-so what if there is so much blood and gore and violence-kind of a preparatory four hours(is that movie that long?).Great spin on the prompt An Elephant:-)
