AnElephantCant climb up a tower
Although he likes to see all the nice lights
The problem is
He gets in a tizz
He does not have a good head for heights
Once again it is Friday Fictioneer time.
Where romantic Rochelle elevates an eyeful of towering tales.
And AnElephant goes nearly inSeine.
The idea is to write a very short story, circa 100 words, based on this picture prompt (below).
That’s it.
I Love Paris
I really love Paris!
It is full of stupid wealthy ancient Parisiennes.
I follow them home, check out their security, then go back at night.
So I am helping myself to the goodies when this little mutt starts yapping upstairs.
A tiny dog, an old lady, so what?
I step into the shadows as they reach the stairs.
Then the old fool trips over the whining wretch.
She is dead before she reaches the bottom.
Now I am standing here with a sack full of loot and a very rich corpse.
I am in deep trouble.
I really hate Paris!
Sort of like a Alfred Hitchcock tale – you are so talented! Thank you and I’ve been to Paris – I thought the people were mostly nice but they did seem to revel in making nasty comments about Americans. Really, really enjoyed the read – thanks. Nan

I have always wanted to go to Paris for Christmas…I must remember to avoid burglary while I am there.

AnElephant has been very clever this week. A wining story, with clever twists and turns. The I love Paris and I hate Paris are wonderful anchors for this story. Delightful!

Dear AEC,
I love the opposed opening and closing lines. Paris in the Spring, indeed.

Dear Sir cant, On behalf of Oberon may we wish you a merry Christmas, Oberon doesn’t let me out very often but as its Christmas and I am on my best behaviour I am allowed out just this once. So have a good Sir cant and all our little faeries also wish you well. We all love a good elephant. Love Titania.

Loved the switch from love to hate in a single moment. Really though, couldn’t he just put everything back where he got it and leave with no one ever knowing he was there? Old lady just fell down the steps is all.

Trust a stupid wealthy ancient Parisienne to croak on you at the wrong moment. Very convincing voice.

Wow, talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A bag full of stolen loot is great but not worth a murder rap. I love the voice you used for this. Pretty genuine sounding.

Dear Elephant,
There used to be a reality TV program called “World’s Dumbest Criminals.” I think your MC might’ve been showcased on it. In any case you made me laugh out loud.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Dear Sir Elephant, that is foreign cities for you. Best stick with your own where I am sure there is a ready made supply of hapless victims.
