Magic – Ligo Haibun Challenge

AnElephantCant keep travelling forever
But he recently made a visit to Italy
The folk are so nice
No words can suffice
He has never been treated more hospitably

The Haibun Ligo Challenge is a weekly event hosted by Pontius Pirate and the Exquisite Ese.
Visit them for all the guidelines and background.

This week we have a choice of prompt words.
AnElephant chooses Faery.

Magic by AnElephantCant

Magic by AnElephantCant

in a house
on the outskirts
of a medieval village
built on Roman baths
looking across
the North Italian plains
to the sharpened Alps
to Atlantean Venice
and to the Val dee Fade
the Valley of the Fairies
where
the Anguane
the Lumiera
and the Mazzariol
dance
work
and make mischief
lives a family
part of a greater family
who welcome
with open arms
open homes
open hearts
the lost daughter
of a long gone
much loved
never forgotten
brother
showing
warmth
generosity
and love
far surpassing
that required
but yet
given
freely
unquestioningly
simply
because
for them
she is them
always

the magic
of the human heart
casts its own spell

A very interesting style, full of sound but not fury, which fits the haibun well. I am a real fan of well-described concrete locations in haibun.

So wonderfully excellently written. The warmth, love and feeling within (and without) is revealed so lovely (magically) in each word. I really like this one – very much! xo

It is nice to think one can always go home, even if one has never been there before. I love how warm and embracing this was. What a lovely place you brought me to visit. Thank you.

You bring forth the magic in the end with ” she is them always”.
Beautiful flow in that story that lends a spellbinding feel to it. ( yes, I know, I know…)
