AnElephantCant tell you how much fun he has
Each week with Friday Fictioneers
So he gives Rochelle
Who runs it so well
A big thank you and three hearty cheers
The idea of Friday Fictioneers is to write a very short story (100 words) based on a picture prompt (below).
That’s it.
The Job
Look at the size of that place!
Wait till you see inside. Original Old Masters, silver and gold candlesticks, worth a fortune!
This‘ll be easily the biggest job we’ve ever done.
Aye, and it’s a one-off. The old boy’s half-crazy, never leaves, just prowls about with a shotgun.
He’s not here, is he?
No, I told you, he’s away to that funeral, won’t be back till near dark.
We’ll be legends! Nobody in our game has ever tackled anything this dangerous before.
Let’s go get rich then.
Do you really think one day is enough to clean all those windows?
This is GOOD! Love your sense of humor with that twist ending!

Love the comical twist – interesting ideas that kept my mind involved. I thought job in hotel, then ‘the job’, imaginative take on the image, something beyond the spooky, gothic and dark that many of us have written (including myself). Then I remembered whose blog I was on and braced myself for a final wonderful twist!
I would hate to have to clean those windows!
Brilliant.
